Welcome to the Birds On The Wing Online Store
Nuno-Felted, Eco-Dyed Scarves
My love of making things with my hands started at a young age. I use to watch my Grandmother hook rugs with wool that she had dyed from natural plants, it intrigued me. So as I grew she taught me how to hook and dye my own wool. I became an apprentice to a master rug hooker, Ann Winterling, through the NH Arts Council and continued to learn and eventually became a juried member of the League of NH Craftsmen in the fiber arts. I still love to hook rugs but found a new passion in working with wool and silk to create Nuno felted and eco-dyed scarves.
It all ties in so well with my love of nature and designing things that are beautiful to wear and look at. And after all, scarves are a form of adornment just like jewelry! I am adding this new line to my Birds on the Wing website. I think you will enjoy wearing them as much as I do making them.
As with my jewelry, I am always willing to do custom orders! Thanks for sticking with me as I expand my talents and continue to grow in my love for making nature inspired art!
